It all began in 2013 when two strangers from opposite sides of the world—one Canadian, one English—found themselves in Banff for a ski season. What were the odds that Ethan, working in Lake Louise, and Heather, working at Sunshine Village, would end up living in the same house with 10 other people? A lot, apparently!

Over the season, a friendship blossomed, one that quickly became more than a friendship!

As the season came to an end, Heather's visa ran out, and just when it seemed like there might be more to their friendship, she had to leave. But the story didn’t end there. Despite the distance (Heather traveling through New Zealand and beyond, and Ethan staying in the mountains), the bond stayed strong. From 2014 to 2019, the friendship turned into something more, and when Heather returned to Banff that Spring, it was no surprise—well, maybe a little—that on the very first day back, they became more than just friends.

Fast forward to 11 years later, and here we are—getting married in just a few months! Who would’ve thought that a Canadian guy and an English girl would make it through all the distance, time, and cultural differences (let’s be honest, it’s mostly about whether it’s “chips” or “fries”)? But Ethan’s stubbornness and humor paired with Heather’s free spirit and caring nature have made for a partnership that has stood the test of time.

Oh, and speaking of "timing," Ethan proposed in Mexico on the beach. It was an unforgettable moment... mostly because as he sat down on a log to propose, he fell off the back of it—feet in the air—because he had the ring box stuffed in his back pocket. Talk about a dramatic proposal! But after all the laughter, he got the words out, and here we are!
